Twenty plus years of professional computer science experience: comprehensive, successful career as Director of Application Development, team leader, software developer, network analyst, and classroom instructor at the undergraduate and industry level.


January 2002 to Present: Director of Application Development; QuickPen International/Trimble Navigation Limited, Denver, CO. Directs all aspects of application development for QuickPen: Produced six successful commercial product lines. Introduced C#, automated builds, plug-in architecture, object-relational mapping, and dependency injection.

July 2000 to December 2001: Team Leader for the AutoBid SheetMetal Estimating product; QuickPen International, Denver, CO. Led a development team of 5 programmers implementing a version of Extreme Programming.

April 2000 to July 2000: R&D Engineer, AutoBid SheetMetal; QuickPen International, Denver, CO.

July 1997 to March 2000: Programmer/Analyst; ARMtech, Inc., Lubbock, TX. Member of six-person team developing insurance software. Salient contributions include PDF report integration component and scripting component which automated program tasks. Conducted extensive training for maintenance developers.

Designed and implemented document imaging system creating a paperless office. System components: document viewing program; program to identify and store documents; several custom components including TIFF tag manipulating and document bar code decoder.

July 1991 to July 1997: Software/Network Analyst, Academic Instructor; Concordia University, Seward, NE. Designed and implemented Inventory Resource program and Faculty/Staff Communications program. Diagnosed, repaired, and installed network equipment. Instructor:“Introduction to Computer Organization” and “Computer Programming II”.

May 1994 to July 1997: Contract Consultant; Chartwells, Jupiter, FL. Designed, constructed point of sale system utilized in university dining facilities. Implemented in Borland Delphi; suite consists of five interrelated applications.

Designed, implemented and maintained Self Nutritional Information Program (SNIP). Students selected food items via SNIP receiving pertinent nutritional/dietary information. Constructed in Borland Delphi; suite consists of the SNIP program, custom screen saver and custom Delphi components.

1989 to July 1997: Contract Consultant; Oetting's Detasseling, Inc., Seward, NE. Instrumental in the design and implementation of a bar code tracking system automating employee and agricultural data. Designed and implemented general purpose report writer constructed in Delphi.

January 1989 to July 1991: Network Analyst; Sandhills Publishing, Lincoln, NE. Team leader, responsible for maintaining Novell NetWare network with 9 file servers and 300 workstations.

1980 to 1989: United States Marine Corps 1980 to 1985 active duty, 1986 to 1989, active reserves. Rose from the rank of Private to Captain. Supplied accurate and timely artillery fire in direct support of ground troops as a Forward Observer, Fire Direction Officer and Platoon Commander commanding 50 Marines.


Masters Degree in Computer Science, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE, degree complete pending one class and thesis (4.0/4.0 grade point average).
